designer kiss – somewhere in teletubbyland the red teletubby (Po) sits, mostly retired and ignored these days with hopes of engaging in one more big hug

No passion

Like water and oil. We are made up mostly of water. Every once in a while, I feel it necessary to use a bit of oil. How would most people go about massaging a heart? I love water.

Life disguise

Even in the rain, being in nature trumps your typical (in the cubicle) Monday morning. The beach might be the perfect alternative. Just get in the car and drive. Once on the road, if you notice snow around you - make sure you have snow tires or all-season radials on the vehicle. In fact, you may not even have to leave your home to get to a beach. Imagine - people who eat nuts on a regular basis suffer fewer heart attacks and in turn keep their distance from the grim reaper. These days the grim reaper has a cubicle set up right next to yours at work - but is also known to visit the beach every now and again.

Looking at you

when close to heaven's door
we knock
on the other side
of the mood of the trusted world
this very world
still so big, bright and new
and you?
what does your mood say of the day?
what is swirling in you?
wait till tomorrow
to say

Bigbutterflyeye

Let me sleep, for it's not something that I do well.
To make sure that I am not disturbed, I'll keep one eye open.

On my tummy

Today I heard someone say "the past can't hurt you". I took this to mean, move forward and leave the painful times behind. I believe this to be true. Now if only we could revisit our past to reclaim the lost smiles and the dreams left behind.

A long time coming

welcome to love
designed for the stars
truly full, truly filled
truly unruly
wrappings of glorious satiny sheets
sliding into tomorrow
awaking this day, the very same way
a leg positioned for escape
these are my hands
know it’s still me, in all ways different
some reasons why it can't be
remember when
I said, let’s make love
it was understood
to some little miss prissy up to no good
now
what we do is not what we call it
though
what we call it, is not what we do
remaining senses are heightened
with the downpour of the beautiful noise
the palm trees
completely still and nourished
stand tall and wave
so what if you think
all that you have is me
you teach me, you own me
you kiss me, you lick me
habitually

Stop falling in luv

Aahhhh love! It's the reason we exist. It doesn't hurt. It will save the world. But, do we really need it?

A long time ago, these things ruled the earth. A simpler time? A scarier time? Change is inevitable. Perspective is everything. Oh yes, these things are still around.

The prospector

The large leaf was actually flung into the water. Wouldn't you know it, the leaf ended up right where it was supposed to be.

Timber

I see a tree falling.

Is this a joke?

I found the following on the back of my credit card bill this month - followed by a holiday greeting.

"TO HELP YOU MEET UNEXPECTED FINANCIAL DEMANDS WE HAVE MADE THIS MONTHS PAYMENT OPTIONAL. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU SKIP THIS MONTHS PAYMENT, INTEREST WILL STILL ACCUMULATE."

What a gift! Wait a minute, haven't I always had this option for parting with more cash? Thank you great Financial Institution, for the encouragement. I know that someone in a tower somewhere thinks that this is amusing but I'm having a hard time cracking a smile.

Run away

on the outside
there is freedom in nature
on the inside
there is fear in humans

no need to run
walk slowly
no rush in going
nowhere

Battle & humm

Has anyone started their holiday shopping yet? Be prepared, bring protection and make sure others are also protected from the impending assault the department stores are lining you up for. It starts earlier every year.

Scene for one

Take time to reflect, if you must. Peering eyes from outside, may not understand or accept the clarity with which you see. Now go forth.

Now

Here is an idea that has been thrown around for years - ok, this is real. For one day each year we will abandon the masks we wear in our daily lives and gladly, physically mask ourselves so that we can be our true selves. Halloween anyone? It seemed as if costume balls from earlier times were more commonplace, or maybe this observation is based on the movies I once found entertaining. My prediction is that in the distant future we will do away with halloween as we will not be able to confront the revealed self, therefore choosing to forgo the masking even for one day. Let's see - I disagree with some of what's written here. There is something in our world which allows us to be masked and yet doesn't give us the sense of freedom to be our true selves. Cosmetic surgery has given us the ability to wear our physical masks on a daily basis - Now.

I sleep

Nature keeps an eye on nature. There is always a need for it, even if there is no actual eye involved. Predators exist. How well do you sleep? This owl butterfly sleeps like a log.

Nowhere path

Only an illusion - in some ways. This spider knows which way to go and what to do. Creatures in nature generally know exactly what their purpose is. How about you? Time can be precious as in many instances we are only alive for a few hours.

Rain ready

Lately, the skies of Toronto have been grey, and there has been a fair bit of rain. This photo was taken (months ago) as I was driving along a main road in Trinidad with the rain starting to fall. It's a little known fact that most people on the island of Trinidad think that rain is lethal and therefore try to avoid it at all costs.

Way down

Looking at things a different way. There are so many things in a natural life that take you up high and keep you there. Time alongside gravity have other things in mind, so we tend to end up way down - here on earth. Of course there is always the next world which some might be choosing from now, a place to be up high once more, where for time and gravity different rules apply.

Avocadored

I found this subject out in a field under a tree - obviously fallen. The beautiful color caught my eye. It was subsequently taken home, repeatedly photographed then eaten. This happened over the course of a few days - and that is the tale of one red avocado.

But for some reason, it looks more like a chicken to me.

Stubble & flow

Soon to be gone - the best one ever in Toronto. Summer, please don't go.

Chatty laughter

the madness
gives an ear to
unreal conversation
they think me mad
but I laugh with you
all the way up from a giggle
oh, the good times in my head
turn away if I disturb you
giveaway in a telling look
why not look at him?
he's in his own mini world
yet he's alright
to me the trip seems to be
never ending
but you, you've grown tired
at this time
no need to hear me laugh
reflection is better suited
lead me, leave me in the doorway
away from the humming man
my chatty laughter turned upside down
into projected unexpected
humming, self absorbed
maybe from the mini world
staring him straight
in the face
